Intrinsic value is a constant question for senior executives: What is my company really worth?, What is the stand alone value of each business in my portfolio?, How can I best increase my company’s value?, How do I get my organization aligned and driven by appropriate incentives to deliver performance consistent with our value-potential? While analytical tools and management methodology to integrate the strategic and financial underpinnings of value management have been refined over the past two decades, the application of those tools requires great insight and finesse. Principal’s at C3 have made major contributions to, and have deep expertise in these tools and methods.
At C3 we apply our value management expertise in three key applications:
- Business and portfolio valuation analyses built on credible financial forecasts. We work jointly with the client organization to ensure that forecasts are based upon a rigorous assessment of industry structure and competitive dynamics. We have the experience and knowledge base to rapidly assess the credibility of management’s projections and develop an integrated strategy and financial model to support valuations and strategy alternatives consistent with the reality of the environment.
- Performance management programs that identify key value drivers for a business, link them to the operating structure deep down into the organization, and create measurement criteria and benchmark targets that are linked to these value drivers. This enables our clients to align and manage the effort of each supporting element of the organization consistent with strategic objectives.
- Value Based Management programs that help to institutionalize the philosophy and components of value management that leading companies use to sustain superior performance over time. We use our experience working with leading practitioners of value management to train organizations in the principles and application of value management, design efficient organizational structure and create supporting processes (strategic planning, resource allocation, control, incentive compensation) that are integrated and value-based.
